The term “Networking” is used when you connect two or more of your
computers so they can communicate with each other and share the
same broadband connection

It's simple to set up and get going, and once you are networked you will be able to:

    • Use several computers at the same time, and depending on the broadband package you have selected, with hardly any noticeable slowing down of your broadband connection (based on normal usage for e-mail and web browsing).
    • Share files and exchange information between your computers - no more swapping disks.
    • Go for a wireless option and you will be able to network without the need for messy wires.
    • Share resources- you only need one printer for all networked computers.
    • Exchange files, music, videos and pictures faster than ever before between your computers.
    • Protect your PCs with a professional grade firewall and protect your family with parental controls.

You don't need to be an expert to set it up, so you'll be surfing, sharing and printing together in no time. There are a few different ways to network your office or home - your choice will depend on what you want as well as your existing computer equipment.

A Wireless Network
A completely wireless solution gives you all the benefits of a network along with the freedom to enjoy it - up to 50m indoors and 250m outdoors (in ideal conditions). Check your email, surf the web with none of the usual restrictions of wires.
You will need additional adapters for each computer you want to network wirelessly.

A Wired and Wireless Combination
If you have desk-based PCs, or a combination of PC’s and laptop then a network that does both wired and wireless networking may work well for you.
For example, if you have PCs in the same room as the network, you may want to connect them to broadband using Ethernet cables. If you have a laptop, you can use a wireless link to connect to broadband anywhere in the home or garden.

What do I need?
Specific equipment needs will vary according to your choice of network product. Basic requirements include:

    • Computers that meet the minimum requirements - these vary. Check the terms and conditions associated with the product you are interested in.
    • A broadband connection.
    • A network product - this can be either wired, wireless or a combination of both.
    • Adapters - you will need one for each computer you wish to connect to the network, to enable it to talk to your network.

If you are interested, we can work with you to help with the supply and installation of a network at your office or at home.
